APPLY HERE: Early Bird Until 1/17 Are you ready to take your solo work to the next level? Are you ready to evolve as a performer? Are you ready to take a leap of faith and express yourself on a professional stage? You are in the right place! Co-taught by nationally acclaimed solo artist Dan Hoyle and Master Story Midwife Joyful Raven, this class offers the opportunity to write and perform original material developed under the guidance of these veteran of solo performers. The "Performance Lab" is designed for people who have either previously studied with Dan or Joyful… or for those with some stage experience looking to take their work to the next level. This would be a great fit for people who have already created some material and want to develop it into a longer work. By the end of class you will have a 20 minute solo piece, story or monologue to be performed live at the Marsh in Berkeley! Through writing prompts, improv and acting exercises, we will get that solo work out of your head and into the stage. In addition to receiving the opportunity to create in a supportive and rigorous community, you will have two writing/acting coaches in your pocket for 3 months! Each student will receive 3 hours of free private coaching. We will fully support you through the wilds of the creative process! Final Class Performances at the Marsh In Berkeley May 15 & 16 THIS CLASS WILL HELP YOU: - Develop and Stage a 20 minute piece - Spark Inspiration - Manage Your Inner Critic - Deepen Your Voice - Build a Physical Character - Strengthen Your Relationship With the Audience - Sharpen Understanding of Narrative Arc - Develop Confidence - Find the Funny CLASS INCLUDES: - 6 weeks of story development and 'writing on your feet' - Prompts and exercises to tease out your narrative arc - Clear Weekly Homework - 6 weeks of performance/acting work to sharpen your material - 3 hours of private coaching - Small class size for maximum attention - Final Class Performance at the Marsh in Berkeley (May 14 or 16) COST: - Regular Price $1295 - Early Bird Special Until Jan 17 = $1095 - Payment plan (3 payments of $450) APPLY HERE: Limited scholarship seats available for financial hardship.
