Service Description
In this 10-week in-person course, we will dive into the art of personal narratives, storytelling, and solo performance. We will use the raw stories of our lives and alchemize them into art. Each of us has powerful tales yearning to be told. This class is suitable for people who are creating a longer piece of work and desire to hone a specific section, but it is also suitable for people who just want to develop a standalone piece. I will take you through the building blocks of creation. This is more than a class; it is a coaching program. In addition to the creative community the class provides, you will have a writing coach for 10 weeks. I will fully support you through the wilds of the creative process. Whether you have a solo show aching to be birthed, you want to tell a story at The Moth, or you simply want to heal through your story, this class will help you harness your creativity, trust your instincts, quiet your inner critic, understand story structure, and express your unique voice. Through writing, improv, and acting, we will get that story out of your head and into the world. By the end of the class, you will have a 10-minute piece to share with an audience of friends, family, and our greater creative community. Guest Teacher Master Class: Nationally acclaimed solo artist Dan Hoyle will be a guest teacher for a session in September to bring his master class on creating physical characters.
