Only 1 Seats Left! Do you want to create solo performance work that is inspired, bold, and deeply embodied - that expands beyond words? Are you ready to generate material from your full being—your instincts, your impulses, your hidden, unruly body? Welcome to Clown Story. Taught by Joyful and Kenny, this workshop combines the radical truth-telling of clown, the rigorous physical vocabulary of Lecoq-style devising, and the deep narrative pulse of personal storytelling. We take the best of clown and storytelling to unlock bold, body-driven, character-rich work. You’ll explore impulse-based physical theater exercises rooted in the work of Chris Bayes (Head of Physical Acting at the Yale School of Drama), as well as ensemble devising tools that open the door to surprising new material. This training is best suited for experienced performers who are ready to push the edge of their expressiveness, take big risks, and create work that is raw, alive, and truly their own.
